GACKT Channel Issue 35 (Preview)

I'm here.

It's... not a sudden announcement, I guess.
The TV series which began with a twist of fate,

It's a TV show
that was developed on the concept of
finding hidden talents in Asia
and creating a chance for them to emerge into the world.

We've already done a second "season" [Not exactly. A "kuuru" is a 3 month period that Japanese TV shows are divided by. in other words the show has been going for 6 months. One actual season can be 1 or 2 kuuru long.],
and the end is approaching.

(Season 2 was over in the blink of an eye)

The show got better reviews than expected,
and it seems like it might be getting a continuation.
Well, if the stars line up right
I'll probably do it again.

I managed to build
extremely good relationships
with the people I met here.

I'm grateful for it.

They're allies who can lend me great strength
in my strategies for Asia from now on.

Speaking of my strategies for Asia,
once again,
it seems there's been some more
ridiculous tabloid nonsense written.

You've really gotta laugh at it.
Well, I'll touch on it
in the postscript to this blog magazine.

(My body has mostly gone back to normal too...)

I have been able to meet
many musicians active in the indie scene.

The quality of music from Asian countries
is far higher than we imagine.
It's improved a lot in the past twn years.
One reason is that there are a lot of people
seriously aiming at music now.

On a techinical level,
Japan cannot possibly compare
with the other countries.

As far as fashionability goes,
Japan is definitely on top now
but that too will probably reverse in a few years.

We're still caught up
in our past position and image of ourselves
as the cultural leader of Asia for the last 20 years.

The reality is
that even in the world of pop culture
a time will surely come in a few years
when other Asian countries overtake us.
If the current situation continues.

It's a sad story,
but the old legends of Japan are disappearing.

Japan as cultural leader...

If things go on this way,
even anime and manga
will be overtaken in 10 years...

thank you for translating!

i was thinking about the indie scene recently myself - how much better the talent is than the "top" charters

id love it if he talked about the problems going on with japan

and im glad he is laughing at the "current" rumor - its only because he has the movie project (sigh) you'd think they'd get tired of it

anyway thanks again!

it seems like every time he has something major (like the movie he's working on) they come out with a new rumor or recycled one - thats what i meant

yeah... that's marketing after all... as the sponsors/whatever come up, tabloids kick in ¬¬

Let's hope Anime and Manga are not overtaken. They're the best.

Very true. The other countries showcase some really good indie talent on AV. Fun stuff!

And it's GACKT could laugh about that rumour.

Thanks for sharing .

Thank you, Amaia! I hope and I´m sure that the old legends of Japan never disappear. There are a lot of new bands, new solo and new music projects in Japan. Japanese people and the musicans are doing their best. And they have a lot of fans in
foreign country (not only Asia) that`s not easy to overtaken!
I think they will fight for their domination!
Sorry Amaia, but I have a question, No. 34 was a Blog Magazine also
publishes on his webpage, the no. 35 is a Gackt Channel, why?
I don`t understand this.

He always posts it twice, once on the Gackt Channel and then a few days later on his Blog (usually with a few sentences added at the bottom). Last time, I didn't have time to translate until after the blog was posted, so I chose that as my source. Because it takes so long for him to update the blog, I usually translate from the Gackt Channel instead.

Basically he posts the same thing in two places, the difference is which one I used to translate.

I don't know why- i'm not japanese, but I feel irritated!
at least they're aware of it, pin-pointing the problem is solving half of it.

Thanx a lot for ur hard work. I plan on watching it ^^
where can I download episodes or watch them online?
